ABOUT GABCON

Gaborone Container Terminal is an internationally recognised Dry port operating in Gaborone and Palapye (PALCON).

GABCON uses the services of both Botswana Railways and Transnet to facilitate the movement of containers by rail to and from South African Sea and Dry Ports linking to the rest of the world’s international ports (which means containerised cargo can be shipped on a Through Bill of Lading to Gaborone and Palapye, where we have offices).

One of the key strategic goals of GABCON is to create a Regional Container Terminal HUB to facilitate trade within Botswana and the SADC Region as GABCON is  geographically placed in the centre of SADC countries.  The terminal solutions and service standards are continually being enhanced to align with international hubs to meet the ever-changing customer demands.

This dynamic Dry Port is in the process of expanding its container handling capacity and extending more value-added services such as intermodal facility/ warehousing to consolidate cargo, stuffing and De-stuffing of containers and setting up a Car Terminal.
